10 steps to embark on the adventure.

Participating in the 24 Hours of Le Mans Rollerblades is above all a collective adventure. Whether you come with friends, colleagues or club members, creating a team is often the first step towards an unforgettable weekend on the Bugatti circuit.

But where to start? How many skaters do you need? How do you organize it? Here are the main steps to build your team and prepare for the adventure, from the initial idea to the big day.

1. Find the first motivated individuals

It often starts with a conversation: a training session at the club, drinks with friends, a rollerblading outing… and someone says:

“What if we did the 24-hour rollerblading race this year?”

To start, you only need 2 or 3 motivated people . This small core group becomes the driving force of the team.

Next, you can expand your network:

  • friends

  • colleagues

  • club members

  • training partners

  • family

The event is open to all levels, from beginners to experienced skaters. The goal can be very simple: complete the 24 hours and become a finisher.

2. Define the team format

At the 24 Hours of Le Mans Rollers , several formats exist.

You can participate:

  • solo

  • in duo

  • in teams (up to 12 skaters depending on the category)

For their first participation, teams often choose:

  • 6 skaters

  • 10 skaters

Why? Because it allows us to distribute the relays and fatigue over 24 hours , while maintaining a good team spirit.

3. Find the last teammates

Are there still a few skaters needed to complete the team?

Several solutions exist:

  • recruit into your club

  • ask your friends and family

  • post an ad

  • use dedicated platforms where skaters and teams can meet

This is often how new rollerblading friendships are born! And don't panic, you have until the end of June to inform your teammates on the dedicated digital space.

4. Appoint a captain

Every team needs a captain .

His role:

  • manage team registration

  • centralize information

  • follow the administrative procedures

  • coordinate the general organization

You don't need to be an authoritarian leader, know how to hold a whistle or speak into a megaphone: the captain is above all the point of contact and facilitator of the team .

5. Register the team

Once the team is formed, it's time to register.

The main steps are generally:

  1. create the team on the registration platform

  2. complete the information for each team member

  3. validate administrative documents

  4. finalize registration before the deadline

Skaters' information must be entered in the team file before the event, accompanied by a license or medical certificate if necessary.

6. Organize the logistics

A team is also a small organization!

You need to think about:

The move

  • car sharing

  • train

  • carpooling

  • club bus

Accommodation

  • reserve your place at the campsite on the private circuit for participants

  • or possibly find a hotel nearby

Food

  • reserve your meals on site at the restaurant

  • prepare the logistics of meals at the campsite or in the cabins.

  • Refreshments for the relay points (fruit, drinks, energy bars)

This organization is also part of the fun of the event for the team.

7. Prepare the strategy… and the atmosphere

Once the team is complete, all that remains is to imagine:

  • the relays

  • the rotation of the skaters

  • rest periods in the box

  • night management

But there's also everything else :

  • choose a team name

  • create a shared t-shirt

  • imagine a disguise

  • plan an atmosphere and decorations for the team in the paddocks.

At the 24h Rollers, performance counts…but friendliness and creativity count just as much.

8. Meet up before the race

Teams that have the best experience often have one thing in common: they meet before the big day.

Some ideas:

  • a rollerblading outing together

  • a joint training

  • a team meal

  • an organizational meeting

This allows us to:

  • getting to know each other better

  • define the roles

  • to create a real collective dynamic.

9. Prepare the equipment

Before leaving, remember to check:

  • serviced roller skates

  • spare wheels

  • tools

  • helmet and protective gear

  • supplies

  • equipment for the night

  • prepare the equipment to outfit the box intended for the relays

Good preparation allows you to arrive calm and ready to fully enjoy the event.

10. Enjoy the adventure

The moment has finally arrived.

On Saturday, at the starting line of the Bugatti circuit, the excitement is building. The teams are ready, the rollerblades are waiting… and the adventure begins.

For 24 hours, each person will:

  • surpassing oneself

  • encouraging his teammates

  • experience unique moments.

And when the finish line arrives, only one thing matters:

cross the finish line and become finishers all together.

Forming a team for the 24-hour Roller race is not just about registering for a race. It's about creating a collective adventure that will remain etched in memories.
